I understand what you are saying, Rosie. Visitors and investors alike should avoid doing business with unethical and unprofessional property managers as well. Consider Francisco Hernandez Mandjuano who was our property manager for over 20 years. He ran several different companies under different names and operates mostly in Las Conchas.

My family terminated his employment for what we considered to be unethical behavior, and now he is claiming ownership of our property. His tactics now include spreading derogatory rumors about our family.

We are now involved in a lawsuit with him but are determined to get the truth out. He especially seems to like "befriending" older women and playing on their sympathies. He also believes himself influential enough to get away with this and attempts to intimidate us by saying the politicians and police are all in his pockets. Time will tell.

This is not necessarily about a project in Rocky Point, but about a real estate firm, Terranova Inversiones, which is owned by ex-mayor Ramon Martinez and his brother, Martin Martinez. Unfortunately, I worked for the firm as General Manager, and left due to their unethical practices. Specifically, they are famous for keeping/spending deposits taken from potential buyers on real estate transactions. Unwitting victims have taken their battle to the ethics committees of both AMPI and PPAREA, to no avail. The fault there isn't due to the organizations, but to the slippery brothers who believe themselves influential enough to get away with this. The Martinez brothers believe themselves above the rules of ethics as well as the laws. The majority of Realtors working in Rocky Point are professional and ethical. Visitors and investors alike should avoid doing business with anyone who isn't reputable and professional.
